Travel and Accommodation
Academy Accommodation and Meals:
Participants are staying in a three-star hotel in the center of Cremona in double or triple occupancy rooms with private bathrooms. Buffet breakfast and lunch are provided. Additional fees apply for single room accommodation.
Sightseeing and Excursions:
The Academy offers city tours of Cremona and a special day trip with a sightseeing tour. Participants and guests have a unique opportunity to visit the Stradivari Museum, the Violin Museum of Cremona, and the workshops of Cremona's renowned luthiers. They will also be able to visit the world famous "Fondazione Antonio Stradivari" and the Consorzio Liutai "Antonio Stradivari" and meet with its members. A special day tour of Verona is planned for participants and guests of the Academy.
Travel Arrangements, Airport transportation:
Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements and transportation. Airport transportation from and to Milan Malpensa Airport is offered by the Academy by a prior arrangement. Additional fee applies. Please note that an adult must accompany participants under age 12. The following schedule of Airport transfers is offered:
|Milan Malpensa – Cremona:||July 16 (Arrival day for three-week program)||Departure approx. 10.30am and 2.00pm|
|July 23 (Arrival day for two-week program)||Departure approx. 10.30am and 2.00pm|
|Cremona – Milan Malpensa:||August 6 (Departure day)||Departures in the morning|
|Special Milan Malpensa – Cremona transfer will be scheduled on July 21 for Competition participants attending a two-week program|
Medical, Travel, and Musical Instrument Insurance:
Participants are expected to arrange their own travel and medical insurance. Academy recommends to string and wind players to arrange their own musical instrumental insurance. A photocopy of all insurance documents must be presented to the administration of the Academy by June 1, 2017.
